Vacant Land in the charming town of Onyx. On State Route 178 just 2.9 miles northeast of Weldon, and not quite 5 miles out of Lake Isabella, this quaint town sits at 2800 feet above sea level and has a population of 425. Onyx was originally called Scodie in honor of William Scodie who opened a general store in the town in 1861, and still is open for business today. The Post Office opened in 1869.
