I received my license to sell real estate in September 1995.
I graduated college with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing in 1992 with no intention of going into real estate as either an agent nor a manager. I studied Biochemistry at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, but transferred to Cal State Northridge where I switched to Business. I was hired during my senior year by May Co. as an executive in the buying offices. Shortly, thereafter, we merged with Robinson's to become Robinson's May then we became Macys, but after 3 year's, I left the buying offices for other experiences. And I found the exciting life of Real Estate !
Originally, I started practicing real estate at a small boutique office in Studio City - Gibson & Associates (since sold to GMAC). By my second full year (1998), I was a top agent with that company. Then in June of 1999, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties expanded into the San Fernando Valley by opening a Studio City office. I was recruited to help open the new office. In June of 1999, we debuted with about 10 agents. Seven years later, we had expanded to over 120 agents in Studio City alone, with 18 more offices in the L.A. Area. Despite this period of growth (and increased competition), I have consistently merited recognition at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, including earning a place in the Top Ten agents, and earning the company's President's Circle award for outstanding production - among other awards and recognition.
In February 2007, I was asked to by an assistant manger to help run the Studio City office. By March of 2009, I was made an Associate Manager of the Studio City office. In March 2011, I was made the manager of the West Hollywood Office in the Pacific Design Center. This office was struggling, and upon further analysis, the decision was made to wind it down and seek a new location. I am happy to say that I am back in my home of Studio City on the Management Team.
I am a native Angeleno, having been born in the San Fernando Valley - back when it was filled with Orange Groves, and we were all in the 213 area code -and that wasn't all that long ago. I attended Cal Poly SLO & CSUN (Cal State Northridge) where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business after transferring from my first love, Biochemistry.
Except when I was at Cal Poly, SLO, I have always lived in Los Angeles. Since 1998, I have lived in the Hollywood Hills just above Sunset. Even if you don't know where I live, you have probably seen my house from the air. I was a neighbor of Paris Hilton, and it was in my driveway that all the paparazzi were stationed when she had her drunk driving debacle and had to go back to jail after being released early. Fortunately, for the peace of the neighborhood, she moved away, though she, herself was a very pleasant neighbor with interesting guests.
I have been President of one of the country's largest gay bowling leagues, based right here in Studio City. We had 128 bowlers, a fully updated league website, and we supported a number of charities, including the AIDSWalk , through our fund-raising efforts. I am also an avid card player, particularly Bridge. I love paddle tennis (not ping-pong, this is like a cross between squash and tennis). I work out and run religiously (about 4 miles 3x's a week) to counteract my second or third greatest love of cooking... and eating! I travel extensively. I have been to Europe over 26 times, and I have been to nearly every country in Europe multiple times plus Japan, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Taiwan (but not China, yet), Thailand, Tunisia, Morocco, Turkey, Canada (does that count?), Brazil, Uruguay, Panama, and Argentina. And I really look forward to adding more to this list.
