My real estate career began in 1989 with the purchase, rehabilitation and reselling of residential properties in San Diego County. My company bought and sold 89 homes over the next 11 years.
I graduated from San Diego State University in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing. I became a California real estate salesperson in 1996 and later obtained my broker's license. My first broker was Prudential California Realty in Bonita, California. In recognition of the success I experienced in my first year selling other people's homes, I was awarded "Rookie of the Year."
The owners of the sub-branch I worked in left the Prudential franchise and opened a Realty Executives franchise. I went on to become a top producer and was then offered a branch manager position for a new office in our franchise. I then became the general manager and a fierce recruiter of agents from competing firms.
I was fortunate to be recruited in 2005 by the largest franchisee of Prudential in the nation. I began my career with Pickford Realty Limited dba Prudential California Realty that September. After having the unique opportunity to study the firm from the inside out, I co-managed in Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe and managed the firm's offices in Solana Beach and Encinitas.
In 2008, the Encinitas branch was closed and I went directly back into real estate sales. Our team specialized in bank-owned properties, and we sold an average of 50 homes per year for the next three years. In late 2011, I returned to branch management in Prudential's San Diego Downtown Gaslamp and Point Loma offices. I continue to manage these powerful and visible branch locations.
I am always interested in speaking with experienced agents who wish to do more business and use the myriad of technology our company makes available. The rebranding of our firm to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties has brought additional and enhanced tools for our agents. I pride myself in being able to assist all agents in maximizing their use of these programs and tools.
My offices welcome new agents as well. We provide training at our training center and in our office, as well as a mentoring program with top producers. I work one on one with all of my new agents to insure their confidence and success. Likewise, I work as a teammate with my experienced agents to support the growth of their businesses.
I enjoy traveling the world as time and career allows. I work hard to spend New Year's Eve in Europe. I have a true love for Paris and the other French cities I have visited. I have embarked on a quest to visit every American city during holiday weekends. There are so many great cities in the U.S. to discover.
I also really enjoy fine dining and great wines, which I make every effort to savor when traveling. Additionally, my passions include time with my three nieces, good friends, and our two dogs. I stay active by lifting weights, running, and taking long dog walks in Balboa Park. I am proud to be a native San Diegan.
