Dave Parsa was born and raised in Ventura, California. Dave attended school in Ventura (from Loma Vista Elementary to Ventura High School). He grew up surrounded by family deeply involved in real estate. In Ventura Dave learned negotiation skills from his uncle who began purchasing commercial properties in downtown Ventura in the '70s. Today substantially increasing this ownership interest. Also at an early age, Dave's father taught him the in's and out's of residential real estate buying, selling, investing, and managing. Since this time, Dave has 28 years of practical experience in the buying, selling, investing, and managing his own real estate in southern California. He learned the most valuable lessons whe4n his family left him to learn on his own. Life experience is paramount.
As is the case with many Venturans, Dave began surfing the county's diverse surf spots at an early age, and still gets out when he can. In 2007, he collaborated with a close friend to direct and produce an internationally-released, award-winning surf film, "Absolute Mexico." Soon after, Dave released his first "David Parsa Film," another internationally-released, award-winning surf documentary entitled "Live: A Music and Surfing Experience" (narrated by lifetime 805 surfer/legendary musician, Jackson Browne). Most personal to Dave, this documentary received the Ventura Film Festival's award for Best Surf Film. Dave's final surf documentary was released shortly after the passing of his mother to cancer. Dave donated all proceeds due him to the American Cancer Society, the official partner of the film. Since this time, Dave volunteers a significant amount of time and resources to several cancer-based causes (The local "Young and Brave Foundation," "Surfing For Hope," the "ACS"), as well as other causes for the betterment of our city (Ventura Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation), and serves on the Advisory Board of the Ventura Botanical Gardens. In 2016, donating over $60,000 to these pursuits.
Dave is a licensed Realtor. He is affiliated with the Ventura Office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, California Properties. Additionally, Dave is certified by the California Bureau of Real Estate for the successful completion in Real Estate Appraisal, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Principles, & Real Estate Practice.
Dave temporarily left Ventura to complete his undergraduate studies at the University of California, at Irvine; and to complete his study of law in southern California, graduating with honors and earning his Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree from Whittier law school. There he received two Dean Merit scholarships, was invited onto Whittier Law Review as a board member and Notes & Comments Editor, was a member of the Trial Advocacy Board, taught an introductory Contract Law course at Costa Mesa High School, received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Professional Responsibility Practicum Skills, and the American Jurisprudence Bankcroft-Whitney Award for ranking top in his entire class in Contract Law. Additionally, Dave volunteered 4 years of service to the Legal Aid Office in Santa Ana, and volunteered 2 years to serve on The Alliance for Children's Rights Clinic.
