A native of Orange County, California, Matt began finding his love for home construction at a young age. His father is an engineer and home builder, so construction is in his blood. Matt's love for building led him to Chapman University where he graduated with a bachelor of fine arts degree. Shortly after, he got his contracting license and began working for himself as a general contractor, with his specialty being remodeling homes. In that process, he felt inspired to sell houses, and became a licensed Realtor for the state of California. All the years of expertise in the home industry landed him into home improvement television in 2008 with DIY Network. He has gone on to host many series for DIY Network and HGTV including Project Xtreme, Money Hunters, Vacation House For Free, and hosting close to 100 episodes of the hit series Yard Crashers. He has appeared on many morning shows for CBS, ABC and NBC as a home professional and continues to travel across the country to home shows giving expert home and real estate advice to thousands of homeowners. He has also been a contributor for Consumer Reports and HGTV magazine as well as featured in the Wall Street Journal and USA Today. Matt also is the creator and President of "Build For Love" which is a charity based in Orange County that gives children suffering from illness room makeovers to help them heal. Matt believes that giving back and having the ability to share his talents with those who are in need not only is great for the Orange County community but gives gives him so much joy in return. When he is not doing real estate Matt loves free diving and surfing off the local beaches and enjoys spending time with his family which are all rooted here in Orange County. He believes his hard work ethic and communication skills combined with decades of home building experience makes him a Realtor that any homeowner or future homeowner can take the utmost confidence in.
"I lived in Orange County all my life and there is no other place in the world I would rather help people handle one of the dearest and most important investments of their lives…their home."
