Originally from New Zealand I have had the pleasure of living in both Newport Beach and Laguna beach for the last 18 years. What a privelege to have the opportunity to have a lifestyle that many consider a vacation location.

While in New Zealand I practiced Real Estate and of course it was a very different experience as the main kind of RE transaction was through the Auction process. I sold homes in Auckland NZ and visit twice a year to connect with fellow realtors even to this day. I must say though the auction process was fun and varied. I listed an old stone house in NZ which was built in 1842 and we arranged an auction where we all dressed up in the costume style of the eighteen hundreds...early Colonial days in NZ...!!! Together with the appropriate music and food.. Needless to say the house sold at an alarming price...

In addition to selling real estate I also owned and managed two restaurants.. one in Kings Road London and one in Auckland New Zealand in my own Stonehouse which was built in 1842. This afforded me more knowledge in dealing with the needs and wants of people..!!
Moreover I was originally a teacher in both secondary and primary
schools in Auckland NZ and spent much time marketing and promoting new programs.
Moreover, I established a business called Executive Gifts where I would search for appropriate gifts for foreign customers as well as local sources. This did give me an edge in dealing with the general public and the CEO's and I became very successful in this enterprise. In the late 90's I became restless and wished for new fields and new challenges in my life. As my son was an attorney in New York city I decided that the USA held the challenges I wished to experience. Subsequently I arrived in Southern California in 1998 and have never looked back.

I believe that the Californis coastline holds continual value and therefore it can be considered an investment to the buyer. This has proved to be correct ...even through the "tricky" times we have all experienced in 2008 . I have had many adventures overseas and have met international people..we have all concluded that Southern California offers the best of many worlds..climate, variable topography and a melting pot of many races. Not to mentiom sand, sea and satisfaction on many levels.

Soon after arriving in California from New Zealand l sensed that Real Estate was about to boom.Subsequently I joined a local Prudential Realty and within 2 months I had a great listing just under 1 million dollars. As I wasnt even familiar with the area this gave me great incentive to pursue this adventure even further. As a result I aquired both the enthusiasm and zest for selling Real Estate in all of Southern California. It was an enlightening time indeed.I spent from 1998 to 2007 selling in Newport Beach and Laguna Niguel till the inevitable happened.

Now I am back with more wisdom, a renewed interest and with a philosophy that embraces not just the selling of homes but a sincere focus in helping people find that place where they may find shelter from the storm and live a life they only imagined...

Not just "A Room of One's Own "as Virginia Wolfe, wrote as the title of her novel, but "A HOME OF ONE'S OWN"........ Thankyou For your interest.
