Jody began his real estate career working along side his uncle selling land, ranches and parcels in Ventura, Ojai, Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez Valley. Adding that experience to the #1 Team, Calcagno & Hamilton, Jody brings all the skills from being a key memeber of the "Land, Ranch and Lifestyle" division at BHHS. Jody's expertise in closing complicated and unique real estate transactions makes him the perfect choice for clients with those specific needs. Jody earned a bachelor of arts in Economics from CSU Fullerton in 1993. He worked for several years at a regional investment banking firm as a retail stock broker. He successfully helped raise funds for several companies through both private placement and public stock offerings.
Following his entrepreneurial instincts, he went on to open, own and operate more than a dozen self-defense studios from Portland, Oregon to Houston, Texas. As the number one franchisee for over 20 years, his studios made made substantial positive impacts on their respective communities.
In 2013, Jody founded Alpha Project Americas, a tax-exempt charitable organization who's mission is to establish multiple, self-sustaining safe havens for at-risk youth in Latin America and the US. With current sports outreach programs in Costa Rica, Alpha has worked to uplift the youth impoverished communities. Alpha has also provided prosthetic limbs for the needy.
